The original painting is mixed media on a 2ft x 4ft piece of plywood ~ including watercolor, colored pencils, acrylic paints and acrylic paint markers.
Years ago while sitting at a table in my parents basement I kept writing on my table over and over and over again, “we are one, we are one, we are one” I wrote it in many styles and orientations ~ There was something about this particular way that I wrote it; (seen top left) - that I just liked the way it looked --- and the more I looked at it, I saw the word “war” and I saw the word “won” / then I thought to myself - “the war will be won when we are one” ~~~ Since the beginning of time people have killed more in the name of their “god” than for any other reason ~~~ ~~ Every major religion agrees that we should not kill each other; yet they all twist the words in their holy books just right in order to justify doing so ~~ ~ If we could only use our voices like civilized humans; just maybe we could stop senselessly destroying each other ~ ~ Peace is possible only when we as a collective believe that it is possible ~ 🙏🏻🦋🌀✌🏻
